Field trips to Flamenco Denver.
We periodically receive school groups of diverse ages in our studio for an adaptive workshop. This sparks curiosity in children that might otherwise not have the opportunity to be exposed to flamenco art.
If your school is interested in booking a cultural enrichment presentation next year. Flamenco Denver presentations are a wonderful way to introduce live music and dance along with Spanish language and cultural history to the student body.

The main focus of Flamenco Denver’s education program is to introduce children in our community to flamenco, an art form very few are familiar with, but one which resonates because of its engagement with the audience, its ability to express emotion, and its variety of rhythms. The typical school program is highly interactive starting with the children watching a short dance accompanied by a singer and guitarist. The students learn about the history and culture of flamenco, how it is a vehicle to express emotions—joy, anger, sadness. They are invited to participate in providing the typical percussion of the dance, clapping, and shouting “jaleos,” known to most by the familiar Spanish exclamation, “Ole!” to express their enthusiasm and urge on the dancers and musicians. When feasible, students learn a few elementary steps of flamenco.
