UPCOMING WORKSHOPS!

Workshop: Lenguaje de Tablao

Explore the language of flamenco from the inside.

In this workshop, we will analyze videos of real performances to better understand the communication between artists beyond what is immediately visible. We will examine llamadas, remates, escobillas, cierres, changes in dynamics, improvisation, and the many codes that make interaction within flamenco so rich and essential.

This experience goes beyond learning steps, falsetas, or letras. It is an opportunity to develop a deeper way of listening, observing, and understanding flamenco in performance. Designed for bailaores (dancers), cantaores (singers), guitarists, and aficionados, the workshop welcomes anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of accompaniment and the dialogue created on stage.

About the Instructor: José "Cachito" Díaz

Born in Barcelona, Spain, into a Romani family, José Díaz "Cachito" carries flamenco in his bones. The son of famed flamenco singer Mario Díaz, Cachito grew up surrounded by guitars, palmas, and compás, absorbing the art form naturally as a way of life. He began his professional stage career at the young age of 11 performing alongside his father.

Shaped entirely by oral tradition and decades of live performance rather than rigid conservatories, his style is deeply authentic and grounded in the pure roots of flamenco.

Over his three-decade career, Cachito has brought his powerful voice to prestigious global stages—including the Dresden Opera, the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico, and the Mont de Marsan Flamenco Festival—while remaining a highly respected master of traditional communication in intimate tablao settings
